Set off at 12am from the south to get to High Royds by sunrise, and before the builders arrived. After a failed attempt earlier in the year was glad to finally get into the mortuary after months of waiting. Exhusted i managed to relocate the mourge and gain access in plenty of time before daylight broke.
It has got to be the best mortuary UE has to offer, the slab still turns, the walls are still a rather surreal blue (just about) and the body fridge still has a really smooth action, like it was only oiled yesterday. Another room i had not seen in photos before was of the chapel of rest, with a seperate viewing window. For some stupid reason i didn't photograph it myself but it is as interesting as the slab and body fridge, and in good condition too.
a final note, i found the chalkboard on the floor by the mortuary slab, whereas before i thought it had been next to the body fridge? correct me if i am wrong there though.
thanks for reading, here are the photos
