Dmax and I visited this site the evening after I saw it. We managed to get some pictures of the laundry/bathrooms.
White Hart Road Depot was the site of the Woolwich municipal electrical generating station fuelled by domestic rubbish. This ended in the 1920s when the main power station in Woolwich was opened but incineration of rubbish continued into the 1970s.
The site consists of huge tiled and coloured glazed brick halls, one of which still has the incinerators/boilers, and others for the storage of reclaimed materials such as copper and aluminium. Behind other huge metal doors are the incinerators.......all as yet unseen.
It is a listed building now and it is likely that it will be turned into more Mr Brown brownfield housing.
Amityville the electrical generating station on the hill
Underneath......looked about 5ft. deep.
I hope you like them and thanks for looking........darthbuzz
