After some smooth talking by our guide, we were in to St Mary's despite the rain!!

We left this place to grow old gracefully and after a quick pit stop, headed for Cherry Knowle.

I love the contrast between these places, St Mary's is so quiet and peaceful, set in its own grounds with trees and broken down gazebo's whereas Cherry Knowles is never still, even standing in the quiet you can hear something happening, the place groans and creaks with the wind like its lamenting the state that it's in.
Or maybe thats just me?
lol, love both of these places anyway!
Thanks to Shepy for being our fountain of knowledge on the day, would not have got half as much seen as we did!!!

Awwww, thanks foxy

just learning what all the settings do on my camera... i take soooo many pics at the mo its hard to choose the right ones!!
The peeling paint pic i took about 4 times and they all came out differently!!!

there was water running down that whole wall, looked awsome with all the ferns growing about....... like the outside, inside!!!
I love to see that too, how nature slowly, steadily works its way back!

There is alot of that at St Mary's, a few places where the damp has really taken hold the greenery is amazing!!!

Wouldnt dare step on the floor for a closer look though!!!
