Visited as part of the Central Scotland Meet on 04/04/2009 with Celo., RichardB and Escortmad79.

A really foul day with constant rain and rather cold winds at times. Nevertheless it was a good day had by all.

New boards have been put up in many places and as such it was not possible to get inside. We resorted to ambling around the outside taking photographs and chatting to the security guard.

There was a way in round the back you guys missed, it's the only bit with a wooden panel missing from it. It's round the back near the fire stairs, you need a good lift to get up but it's pretty easy, Richard you could have bell'd me and I could have directed you guys. Was the security guy ok with you guys being there?

We did have a look in the area you pointed out before but couldn't see anywhere, looked pretty secure. There was only so much we could do as we'd been rumbled by the security guy when we got there as I think we timed it just as they were changing over. The previous guy drove off in a white fiesta. (I'm basing this on the fact that the guy I remember looking at us didn't look like the guy we spoke to)

The guy was absolutely fine though. Once we'd given up trying to get in we just strolled round and said hello. He proceeded to talk about neds, fact he'd been there 10 years and also a story about how some years ago when he was covering 2 sites, people got in the stole marble fireplaces from here and a forklift from the other.
