What a absolute dump many of you will be thinking , and sadly, inside it really is. Completely looted, trashed, and stripped a really sad state to see.
Stood decaying and unloved by a busy bypass for nearly 20 years closing in 2005.
, A absolutely stunning building that deserves some recognition as its still standing the test of time, having over those many years taken a pounding from the weather, and vandalism.
In the 1980s the hotel changed ownership and became known as The Cherry Tree Hotel ,but before that The witch Ball Inn, a popular haunt for American airmen based nearby at RAF Tilstock in the 1940's. The Inn had a dance hall out back, and a outdoor swimming pool, that later became a pond, before eventually being filled in forever.
The Inn became known as a roadhouse in the 1930's a destination worth travelling to for the dancing and dance hall.
Such a beautiful building, that must have been a place of so much fun, and happiness all those years back...

No, I didn't. Originally went to a beautiful ,old Hall. But unfortunately no access. Well 1 really dodgey way in that was really testing my limits, then 2 very locked doors

This is for sale on the Right Move website as "Land for sale at 500K". But it will need more than 500K to replace the roof, windows and floor in some places. I can only imagine the hotel in the 1940s as being a hive of activity.

I can't find anything that says the actual building is listed, so I reakon it will most likely come down if its sold. I can't imagine alot of people will be interested in the land as the road is far too fast and busy for a housing development.
