Location
Leicestershire
Thought I would have a look on geograph for any local , derelict places added lately,. Something I do quite often when searching for locations, but usualy see the same old places. This time I Was in luck! Grange farm and outbuildings had been added in the last few weeks. I am sure I have seen this farm house reported before. But not in the state it is now, no roof, and the upstairs completely inaccessible due to a large fire.
I have tried to find some history, but can't find anything. It looks really out of place now, in a very built up area, full of housing, restaurants, shops and hotels. Also off a extremely busy road in Leicester, not far from the city centre.
If I have the right house from the report I have seen, it did have furniture, sofa's, and some lovely old photographs.
Such a shame to see it now..
The farmhouse and its land is currently for sale with consent to be demolished and housing built in its place.
From looking around I think it was once a dairy farm, producing milk and cheese. There were lots of green, round tokens on the floor saying- milk and cheese.
Hope you enjoy ...

What a stupid comment!
That's a no brainer! 🤣🤣
But from a exploring visual point of view? I get excited about a half eaten curtain, covered in cob webs !
I take it you've never said- " oh my God, I can't believe it, there's still some curtains hanging up!?" 😄

I think it’s so sad to see a derelict farm.
Why is farmland being concreted and tarmaced over?
Productive farmland. Tragic while we fly and ship in food from abroad.
If foreigners can grow food and raise livestock can do this why not us?
Sorry I’ve ranted but it upset me

"
Why is farmland being concreted and tarmaced over? Productive farmland." Ask the candidate you intend to vote for on 4th July. It is all part of the new religion called "Saving the Planet", by planting square miles of solar panels and wind turbines instead of wheat, barley, potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, etc.

Nigel Farage?
Reform seem to be liked in the countryside where I live. Vote Reform all over the country lanes.
