Lear Corporation closed its automotive interiors factory in Bicester in March 2005, with the loss of 90 jobs, in order to transfer work to its site in Nottingham. It use to be called Chapmans but in March 1999 they were integrated into Lear's Structural Systems Division, part of the company's Interior Systems Group. They Produced mainly seat tracks, mechanisms and seat height adjusters primarily for Ford plants in the UK and Belgium. They also press out seats for chiltern railway trains.

Ok not a great explore the presses have been removed and the offices are so trashed and damaged by kids, but has alot of memories for me going passed on a summers day with the unforgettable sound of the massive presses crashing down on what ever they were making and also in the early 90's whislt my Uncle worked there had his hand crushed in one of the presses failed and came down on his hand when he was removing a freshly pressed part he lost 2 fingers and won £14,000 compensation.
