Lost kingdom project - Malaysia, May 2008

This is an abandoned seaside construction project, I think it was supposed to either
be holiday apartments or a hotel.
Its official name was, "Atlantis, the lost kingdom". Must have sounded a bit silly to
prospective buyers back then, but today the name is so appropriate.

That is such an interesting building. Quite bleak in a way, but I like the central part with the pool and the curvyness in the last couple of pics.

Raz333 - I've notice you've visited a few part constructed buildings that have been abandoned. Does this happen a lot in Malaysia?

Yea, there looks like quite a few building that get started and never finished...perhaps theres a funding problem, enough to start them, not enough to finish..

A lot of these projects went bust in the 90's when the Asian economic crisis hit. Most have been left like this since then, and with the economy looking pretty shaky right now I wouldn't be surprised to see newer projects meeting the same fate.
