OK: stupid name for a location. It comes from an expression here in the Netherlands
(it's something that oughts to be funny to say 'five beers for the sawyers and hold up 4 fingers and one half implying that being sawn off..)
On to the visit and photo's!
I found this location searching the internet and passing by during a work-trip. On the internet I only found some pics with the exterior almost fully intact. Since the exterior is made out of wood only it didn't seem interesting enough as an Urbex locaion. But it was also stated on internet that the sawmill has great historical value that is on the brim of being lost to decay. But when I passed by this location, it showed a pretty worn outside, and that trickled me enough to plan a visit!
Last sunday I packed my stuff and drove to the little village. plants are allready getting pretty green with leaves and I directly saw branches peeking out of broken windows, rooftiles missing and missing wooden planks missing.
there was no chance of sneaking towards the building because of the open landscape, so I posed as a flower enthousiastic and managed to reach the building without attrracting to much attention!
I quickly found a way in and my jaw dropped and stayed in that position
What a beautiful place! The pics on internet were taken in 2005 and I don't believe someone bothered this place since then. All was in its place, it looked as if the men could go back to their work tomorrow.
The location exists roughly out of two spaces. one is all about the engine: an riughly 150 years old steam machine. the other is the actual sawing room. Because I visited this place during daytime, I didn't want to stay too long here, and come back an other time to take a better look at the sawing room.
