This looks like the place that Bicton College used to house some of their students in 1996/7!
Oh, excellent. I've only been around Bicton College once, with some friends, as I don't drive and there's no public transport there...which is a shame as it's a lovely place, and there's a church ruin there that I'd love to have a look at.Our son was there 1994-6 doing BTec Outdoor Leisure!
It's obvious that my son is a bit of a Jonah. He's lived both here and at Haddon Hall in Buxton, which has been derelict since he left, and has just been burned.

Sounds pretty typical, any long standing abandoned places just detiriate to nothingness given timefunny looking through this website so many years later and looking at the photos previously and comapring it to now. have explored this place many times with friends in the past 3-4 years on and off. it's amazing to see how clean and how little overgrowth there was before. almost looks salvageable and like with a bit of work it could be opened again. also loved looking at it being scheduled to be demolished knowing that it hasn't been still so many years later. massive shame about the fire as the building held many documents that could have been used to help the history of the place. the place is absolutley wrecked and looks like soon the only remaining things will be the sports hall and the hotel part which may not even stay as the top floor roof is so close to collapsing. anyone with documents or info on the history would be widely appreciated as am trying to make a bit of a timeline.
"has just been burned". If there is one act that is wicked it is arson. Sentences for those caught and convicted are derisory.Oh, excellent. tempting to throw them on the blaze, isn't it? genuine fire-raisers are mentally ill, but most arson is about insurance or getting rid of inconvenient listed buildings."has just been burned". If there is one act that is wicked it is arson. Sentences for those caught and convicted are derisory.
Surely setting fire to a perfectly sound building for insurance or listed buildings reasons also indicates mental abnormality, if not illness. Last Saturday I went to Ringwood's 999 Day in the Hampshire town. I was talking to a fireman about barn fires - usually barns filled with hay which, I know, can spontaneously combust, although there are plenty of examples of such fires being deliberate. He said he had attended barn fires where farmers had asked the fire crews to let the fires burn themselves out. It was cheaper to deal with a completely burned down barn than one half burnt. And that was down to the insurance claims.tempting to throw them on the blaze, isn't it? genuine fire-raisers are mentally ill, but most arson is about insurance or getting rid of inconvenient listed buildings.
