Ill bear that in mind if I get out that way lolYou think speakers and PIR's are scary try the German Secca team that scan for Bluetooth and Wifi signals, track you down that way :-(
Are such loudspeaker warnings live - or automated recorded responses? In the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, as Ford Prefect and company near the planet of Magrathea, their approach triggers an automated recorded message, from the Commercial Council of Magrathea, that notes that Magrathea is currently closed for business, and to leave. A follow-up message announces that nuclear missiles will be launched against the ship.Just wanna add that UrbEx can be wild, but loudspeaker warnings? That's the next level. I've heard of places upping their security game, but that's some intense stuff.

It varies. In some cases they despatch a mobile guard in a van who turns up a few minutes later (or a long time later…) In other cases, if you hide in the bushes, watch and wait, nobody shows up. No way to know if there'll be a response until you trigger the sensors. Best not to hang around if you're concerned, but from experience it seems that pre-recorded messages sometimes mean no response, whereas a human speaking through the intercom means a response is more likely.Had my first encounter with one today at a derelict building, all the rest of the CCTV was not working and seemed powered down, so did some electrical boxes I noticed, I walked towards a CCTV cam only for a LOUD blaring sound of an alarm, and what I think was a pre recorded message saying to leave now, this is a private site, please leave the premises or something along those lines. As I did not know if there was a guard further up I thought it best to make a graceful but moderate exit, was not followed, but not sure whether anyone would have turned up?
Very true – but defeating them doesn't have to mean meddling with them. Think about how they operate, then how to avoid that.Trying to meddle with the security equipment makes it aggravated trespass...
cheers for all the replies, I will be more careful from now on, and visit the site when quieter and skirt that bit! cheers.Very true – but defeating them doesn't have to mean meddling with them. Think about how they operate, then how to avoid that.

There are ways to defeat Armadaillos as they're only 4 feet high, but the solar-powered towers are more difficult as the sensors are mounted about 12 feet up. Won't go into details on an open forum.
