There is very little information i can find on this place, just that it closed down late 80"s early 90"s.And was possibly owned by "Townroes"butchers. The site standing now is only part of the original complex so i have been told.ie 2 adjoined houses, and a outbuilding for the walk-in fridge.I dont know if this was a abbatoir,or just a prep/hanging/butchery....Located in the Mansfield area.Nottinghamshire

hi mate. at one point this butcher's had there own slaughter house / yard at the back of the premises. I know this because my uncle had his apprenticeship there in the late 80s as well as seeing a calf get the "bolt" for my own eyes.. nice to see this building as it is because I remember it to differently. nice job.

Wasn't this Charlie Flear's butchers at some point? I went to school with his nephew.

It was compulsary purchased a lot of years ago when they planned to widen the junction that this sits on, then they never got round to it!

Coincidentally someone was taking pics there yesterday when I drove past.

Thanks for your imput Divineobscruity...the more info i can get on this plase the better!!!cheers...
