I made a trip to the North East to have a go at some light painting at Steetley. It's possibly not the best idea in the world, as it's a death trap by day-never mind at night :icon_evil
I last visited Steetley about 2 months ago. If anyone hasn't visited yet, I'd recommend getting up there sharpish, bits keep getting nibbled away and one of the settling tanks has been half demolished since my last visit.
We arrived late afternon as the sun was setting, and got a few nice shots of the pier in the weak wintry light.
It was high tide and the cold wind was wiping up the sea by now, The pier was full of fisherman as apparently 'you can catch some reet big uns at this time don't you know bonnie lad'
We got a few pics of the settling tanks, then went back to the car to warm up and wait for the night time to fall. We watched a few of the local chavs in action smashing up, and setting fire to whatever they could to keep us amused. The dark seemed to take an age to come!
Your not going to get a big variety of shots as all there is left are the settling tanks. It's well worth a trip for the pics you can get. Wrap up warm for a night visit though. BRRRR!!
I'd been to Newcastle during the day and got some 'Get Carter locations'
The shots are here if anyone wants a look
