Opened in 1903 and closed 1999/2000 was a former psychiatric hospital. Was built to be self sufficient. With its own water supply, electricity, heating and sewage systems.had an agricultural estate on which able bodied patients worked to produce food for the hospital. They also had a bakery, tailor and shoe maker and 8 acres of gardens. Became part of the NHS in 1948 was home to nursing and midwifery and the powys drugs and alcohol council for substance abuse. Other services here were reflexology.physiotherapy, electro - convulsive therapy. Chiropody and psychiatry. This asylum is now in disrepair and a death trap with the roofs collapsing and floors falling through and full of asbestos

I don't think that there is a complete room in that place. You mentioned about dodgy floors, I would add missing floors. That place is really screwed up.

Man you were brave, I was there in May and took one look from the outside of the fencing and there was no way I would go in. The place needs demolishing but there is some local opposition over redeveloping the place

I know I think I was abit silly as it was in a terrible state but was worth looking around. I don't think much will be left by the end of the year. I wouldn't go back in now as the brick Corridors look like they are ready to cave in at any moment.
