Fenstanton Cricket pavilion was erected in 1932 and was used up until around 2012, when the local cricket team was struggling to find enough players to compete in local leagues. They were finding that most players were joining other, larger, teams in the surrounding towns and villages. The landowner - who was also the cricket club’s president - vowed to keep the pitch in good order just in case the club could be re-established.
The field is now used by local dog walkers and the pavilion has sat mostly untouched.

Thanks for looking,

Your pictures are lovely here. It's amazing to think a wooden pavilion is still standing from 1932 without showing any obvious signs of rotting!

Lovely example of a cricket pavilion, unfortunately many village pitches have disappeared under concrete including the one where I spent many years chasing a five and a half ounce lump of leather around. You captured it beautiful Rubex, Thanks

Love that coat hook pic and the last shot:welcoming:...looks a rather claustrophobic urinal lol

Very nicely captured bit of history Rubex thanks for that!

Awesome photos Rubex, was such a lovely place. Really like the wood and how the light comes through the 2 doors.
