Hey!
So this is my first explore post, and the photos are just iPhone pics (sorry!) but I thought I'd share anyway.
Well, I happened to glance out of the window while driving through a small town near Geneva, and see this big, old, dark house sitting at the top of some overgrown steps, so I convinced my friend to pull over and walk back to have a look with me.
We walked around the side and checked out the house. There wasn't a single window or door left, but we couldn't help but notice that there were chains attached to a wall in one of the top rooms. No idea what they could be for, but they did look pretty horror movie-ish. It creeped my friend out enough that she decided to wait outside as I went in.
I quietly walked around for a few minutes and took some quick photos before my friend called me and I poked my head out of the back door. She was just checking on me, and as I was telling her to come inside, she jumped back and looked, terrified, at the top window. I asked what was wrong and she just said "a man!" I quickly ran out and yelled a quick "hi! Sorry!" as we took off. He didn't say a word, but we weren't hanging around long enough to find out if he understood English or not!
So yeah, here are some pics, but I'm sad I didn't get more and of better quality.
Sorry about no history; if there's anyone who's fluent in French and a little braver than me, maybe we could go ask the new occupant ;)

No chance I was going down there on my own, without a light

And the only door in the whole place, protecting the squatter's upstairs level

I was curious when you posted about this before, very strange!
I'm glad you got back to show us these photos and aren't chained up by your ankles :p

Haha pick one of these excuses as to why I took so long:
1. He only just released me ;)
Or
2. I don't have a computer and my iPhone kept crashing every time I tried to access my photos
:p

Fantastic first report! :)
lol, looks like someone's building a nest in the WC!
Love the hexagonal floor tiles too!
Brilliant report, I look forward to many more! :)

Thanks so much! :)
I hope I'll be able to explore more, but I've been told the land is too expensive around here to leave abandoned. Guess it's a good excuse to go on holidays elsewhere :p
Yeah the WC was weird, and there were splinters of wood in piles in a couple of the other rooms as well, almost as if someone was planning some mini campfires..
Weird place, but interesting!

Got the adrenalin going a little bit! My poor friend though; I felt bad that I had dragged her there and she nearly had a heart attack when he appeared in the window of the room with the chains!!

I took a friend to a local hospital once. She spent most of the time screaming which scared the cr*p out of me. We ended up like Shaggy and Scooby , jumping into each others arms the whole time.

Hahah that's cute :p
My friend just told me today that she's spotted another place to check out, but I'll have to find someone else to go with! Even if it is just a Scooby to my Shaggy; I don't think I'm game to go on my own now!

Bad luck to get a scare like that. Fortunately most places that look empty actually are. Good to see the place after reading your story the other week about the man in the window.
